System Engineering Project Manager – Metro Rolling Stock

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a System Engineering Project Manager to lead rolling‑stock engineering projects for metro vehicles. The role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to deliver R&D products, designs, and processes on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate development of new R&D products, designs and processes.
• Manage all engineering tasks related to R&D projects, ensuring resource availability.
• Control costs and verify effort for engineering activities.
• Maintain compliance with platform requirement specifications and prepare gate‑review documentation.
• Coordinate Design‑to‑Cost activities, vertical integration and activation of the Indian supply chain.
• Liaise between the rolling‑stock business unit and the Engineering Centre India.
• Lead engineering deliverables to meet quality, schedule and cost targets.
• Participate in global and local management meetings, presenting project health and KPIs.
• Build internal workflows, set tools and processes, and keep all documentation up‑to‑date.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of experience in engineering project management.
• Graduate or postgraduate degree in engineering.
• Expertise in rolling‑stock product development processes.
• Proven track record of driving cross‑functional projects in complex environments.
• PMP or PMI certification is a strong advantage.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills across multiple stakeholder levels.
