Storage Backup Administrator

About the role

We are looking for a seasoned Storage Backup Administrator to join our team across Pune, Bangalore, and Chennai. You will work independently, ensuring the reliability and performance of our backup infrastructure while collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily health checks of backup and storage systems and generate health reports.
• Review and update backup configurations, process documents, and audit reports.
• Manage change and incident processes using dedicated tools.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders for backup agent configuration and monitoring.
• Execute regular backup restoration drills and tape rotation procedures.
• Plan hardware and software sizing for future capacity needs.
• Handle P1 tickets with backup vendors, including bridge calls and escalation.
• Apply regular patches and upgrades to all backup software.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of experience in backup administration and data protection.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide thorough analysis of complex data.
• Strong documentation skills for process and audit reports.

Required skills

• Networker, Data Domain, Commvault, PPDM integration.
• Boost, NFS, CIFS, M‑Tree configuration on Data Domain.
• Windows Server 2012/2016, Linux, Solaris platforms.
• Group policy, dataset replication, scheduling.
• DPA (Data Protection Advisory) monitoring and reporting.
• Experience with tape libraries and rotation procedures.
