Staff Front-End Engineer

About the role

Okta is building the trusted infrastructure that secures AI and human identity. As a Staff Front-End Engineer you will lead the design and delivery of the user experience for the Okta Recovery Vault, a critical enterprise‑grade feature that protects identity objects from accidental or malicious deletion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of a highly intuitive self‑service recovery UI within the Okta Admin Console.
• Build interactive workflows for bulk and granular restore operations, including async progress indicators and success notifications.
• Develop data‑visualisation components that summarize recoverable credentials and relationships.
• Create advanced filtering and search tools to scope deletions by source and time range.
• Implement post‑restore checklists and guidance modals for actions such as MFA re‑enrollment.
• Collaborate with product designers and managers to shape the admin journey and reduce panic during incidents.
• Ensure UI performance and responsiveness when handling large data sets.
• Design, build, and maintain backend services using modern JavaScript, React, Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
• Own services throughout their lifecycle, including testing, deployment, observability, and incident response.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience building modern web applications in a full‑stack environment.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, ReactJS, and Node.js (Express or similar).
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and cloud‑native development practices.
• Proven ability to lead technical design, deliver high‑quality code, and work cross‑functionally.
