Software Engineer 2 – Windows Update Platform

About the role

Join the Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) team to help protect and empower billions of Windows devices worldwide. As a Software Engineer 2 you will extend and modify the Windows operating system, delivering high‑quality updates that keep customers secure and productive.

Key responsibilities

• Reproduce, debug, and fix customer‑reported problems.
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities and their variants.
• Develop high‑quality, bug‑free fixes with minimal compatibility risk.
• Prioritize work and deliver fixes on schedule to meet release deadlines.
• Collaborate with escalation engineers and partner teams across Microsoft to debug, test, and ship updates.
• Improve products, tools, and processes for long‑term benefit.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Proven ability to write production‑grade code and troubleshoot complex systems.
