Software Development Engineer II in Test

About the role

Mastercard’s Global Data Privacy team is looking for a Software Development Engineer II in Test to build and maintain automated testing suites for a high‑scale, enterprise‑grade payment platform. The role focuses on ensuring product quality through robust functional, performance, and security testing.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test cases using Playwright, Cucumber, Cypress, Karate, and Selenium.
• Conduct performance testing with JMeter and BlazeMeter.
• Develop test code in Java 11+, leveraging JUnit, JBehave, and Spring Boot.
• Validate data access across SQL (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) stores.
• Test micro‑service APIs and event‑driven architectures.
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines on PCF, AWS, or Azure.
• Apply coding best practices and enforce code‑quality gates.
• Perform proofs‑of‑concept to address emerging business needs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing automated test frameworks for enterprise applications.
• Strong background in both Agile and Waterfall testing methodologies.
• Ability to create high‑quality test strategies and prepare test environments.
• Effective communication skills across technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
