SMT Equipment Technician

About the role

The SMT Equipment Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and optimisation of surface‑mount technology production lines. You will work with a variety of machines to ensure high‑quality electronic assemblies and on‑time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate SMT machines including SPI, Fuji, GKG printer, reflow ovens and AOI systems.
• Perform line installation, alignment, and bring‑up activities for new product launches.
• Program Fuji mounters and implement cycle‑time reduction initiatives.
• Analyse breakdowns, conduct repairs, and manage spare‑part inventories.
• Control machine tossing, oversee new product development, and monitor CPK and GRR metrics.
• Ensure all stations meet company quality standards and work with engineers to adjust workflow for increased throughput.
• Collaborate with line managers and supervisors to maintain schedules that support 100% on‑time delivery.
• Promote a safe, clean work environment and keep equipment and tools in optimal condition.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent in a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with SMT equipment.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams to improve quality and productivity.
