Skilled Technician – Level I

About the role

This apprenticeship is part of a structured training program that combines classroom learning with hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment. Under direct supervision, you will develop the skills needed to work safely with electricity, robotics and other industrial equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow Cummins HSE standards, report hazards, and use appropriate PPE.
• Perform supervised work using diagrams, manuals and specifications while supporting equipment uptime.
• Assist with preventive, corrective, predictive and emergency maintenance of robotic and manufacturing equipment.
• Conduct quality inspections, raise issues, and contribute to the Preventive Maintenance system.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement activities, TPM teams and problem‑solving initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience in robot teaching and programming (preferred).
• Exposure to robotic welding systems, preferably Yaskawa or ABB robots.
• Basic understanding of GD&T, fixtures, robot functionality and manufacturing documentation.
• Willingness to complete required classroom training and on‑the‑job hours.
