Senior Director – Asia Clean Energy Communications

About the role

The Secure Energy Project is seeking a Senior Director to lead its clean‑energy communications programme across Asia. Reporting to the CEO, you will shape and execute strategies that shift public, industry and political narratives toward renewable energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver region‑specific communications strategies in partnership with network allies.
• Co‑create compelling narratives and messaging to support clean‑energy initiatives.
• Plan, pitch and manage media moments, leveraging both traditional and digital channels.
• Monitor emerging narratives in Asian markets and design rapid response actions to counter opposition.
• Lead coalition projects, coordinating partners, data experts and media teams to maximise impact.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in communications, public affairs or media strategy.
• Deep understanding of the Asian energy landscape and stakeholder ecosystem.
• Track record of building and leading multi‑partner campaigns at pace.
• Ability to translate data insights into news‑worthy stories.
• Comfort operating in a fast‑moving, startup‑like environment.
