Senior Accountant – Settlement Accounting

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a senior accountant to join its Global Business Service Center (GBSC) in India. The role focuses on settlement accounting, ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of dues between acquirers and issuers while supporting process automation and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Provide operational support for the global Settlement Accounting function as a senior accountant.
• Execute daily financial accounting activities, including high‑volume matching and exception handling within defined turnaround times.
• Collaborate with on‑shore and off‑shore teams to drive automation and improve settlement processes.
• Liaise with GBSC, regional, and business teams to ensure compliance with policies and controls.
• Analyze financial and operational performance metrics and present recommendations to Settlement Accounting leadership.
• Work US shift hours and be available on weekends as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; semi‑qualified Chartered Accountant preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in accounts receivable or related finance functions.
• Proven ability to manage senior stakeholders and build business relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on accuracy and urgency.
