Safety Manager

About the role

Micron Technology is seeking a Safety Manager to lead and innovate within its Engineering team in India. Reporting to the Facility Director, you will be responsible for establishing world‑class safety and health programs, ensuring compliance with local laws and Micron EHS policies, and collaborating with global EHS teams to support strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of EHS professionals and manage the EHS Committee to set charters and achieve metrics.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety, hygiene, first‑aid, health, and injury‑management programs in line with local regulations.
• Plan and coordinate initiatives to reduce occupational injuries, illnesses, and related financial losses.
• Conduct audits and on‑site inspections, identify non‑compliance, and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare concise inspection reports and present recommendations to management.
• Perform risk assessments for jobs, products, and equipment, updating control systems regularly.
• Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and external agencies such as OSHA and public authorities.
• Deploy corporate safety programs and ensure alignment with OHSAS 18001 and TOSHMS standards.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (field not specified).
• Proven experience leading EHS teams and managing safety programs in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of local EHS regulations and ability to work with governmental agencies.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OHSAS 18001 standards.
• Familiarity with TOSHMS safety management system.
• Understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance processes.
