Resistance Spot Welding Technologist

About the role

We are seeking a Resistance Spot Welding Technologist to join our strategic engineering project in India. The role focuses on developing and controlling welding processes to meet design requirements and ensure high‑quality aerospace component production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new welding parameters to satisfy drawing specifications.
• Control and develop special processes supporting component manufacture.
• Create and modify data cards and ensure engineering specifications for new part introductions.
• Provide technical support to achieve NADCAP compliance and maintain process compliance through shop‑floor instructions and audits.
• Approve process data cards, procedures, and stage drawings where appropriate.
• Utilise PFMEAs and Control Plans to embed quality into processes.
• Capture, analyse, and apply data to improve manufacturing capability.
• Plan daily project activities, resolve technical issues, and liaise with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Support production flow, drive continuous improvement, and assist in commissioning new machines.

Required profile

• Degree qualified or equivalent technical experience in cold forming, laser cutting or conventional welding.
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems such as MES, SAP, and Teamcenter.
• Experience supporting manufacturing changes, technology insertions, or new product introductions.
• In‑depth knowledge of aerospace materials, especially titanium and related alloys.
• Ability to perform visual inspection and interpret samples before metallographic evaluation.
• Strong decision‑making, data‑driven problem‑solving, and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Understanding of quality management systems and special‑process documentation.
