Public Relations & Liaison Manager

About the role

The Public Relations & Liaison Manager will shape and protect the public image of Birla Cellulosic, ensuring consistent communication with all stakeholders, including regulators, media, and the local community. This role supports the Unit Head in managing corporate reputation and handling sensitive issues that arise from plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate and engage key stakeholders to prevent potential threats to operations and corporate image.
• Assist the Unit Head in drafting, reviewing, and publishing press releases and social‑media updates.
• Act as a conduit between senior management and stakeholders on sensitive policy matters.
• Develop and execute strategies that align company actions with the expectations of regulators and an expanding stakeholder base.
• Coordinate litigation support, ensuring organizational messages are clear, consistent, and aligned with the company’s ethos.
• Monitor media relations, internal communications, government affairs, and community relations to maintain control over brand reputation.
• Identify and engage opinion leaders and community representatives to diffuse social and environmental issues.
• Lead meetings and large‑group activities with strategic stakeholders, fostering collaborative partnerships.

Required profile

• Experience in public relations, stakeholder engagement, or corporate communications within an industrial setting.
• Proven ability to work closely with senior management and regulatory bodies on sensitive issues.
• Strong understanding of media monitoring, crisis communication, and litigation coordination.
• Capability to develop and implement stakeholder liaison strategies and guidance.
