Project Finance Controller

About the role

As a Project Finance Controller you will act as a strategic business partner with an operational mindset, collaborating closely with Capgemini account executives and service delivery managers. You will monitor financial performance of the project portfolio, ensure accurate revenue recognition and support cost‑containment initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse KPIs such as WIP/BIA, revenue, and cost, and perform budget‑vs‑forecast analysis.
• Manage monthly financial closing, including revenue recognition, expense tracking, provisions and variance analysis, and present results to leadership.
• Control delivery costs and productivity commitments, working with on‑shore and off‑shore controlling teams.
• Maintain reporting tools, oversee WIP/BIA positions, billing processes and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Support sales coordination by ensuring proper submission of client offers and adherence to internal processes.

Required profile

• 2–12 years of experience in budgeting, forecasting and actuals within project management.
• Strong knowledge of Project Accounting and Revenue Recognition under IFRS.
• Experience with cost accruals and journal entries.
• Project controlling experience using SAP (SAP HANA 4) – Oracle experience is a plus.
• Location: Mumbai or Pune, India.
