MAG Welder – Structural Steel Fabrication

About the role

This full-time, on-site position in Gurugram involves performing Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding on structural steel components, plates and assemblies according to technical drawings and approved welding procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare workpieces and set up welding machines, selecting appropriate wire and shielding gas.
• Execute fillet and butt MAG welds that meet quality and safety standards.
• Inspect welds, grind and finish joints, and correct any defects.
• Maintain tools and equipment and ensure compliance with site safety rules.
• Coordinate with supervisors, fabricators and erection teams to support installation work.

Required profile

• Proven practical experience in MAG welding of structural steel.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of welding safety practices, PPE use and safe handling of gas cylinders.
• Experience in fabrication, fitting and alignment of steel structures.
• Physical capability to work at height, in confined spaces and varying site conditions.
• Relevant welding certification or ITI/technical qualification is an advantage.
