Indirect Tax Specialist

About the role

Capgemini is looking for an Indirect Tax Specialist to manage GST compliance, audits and litigation across its Indian entities. You will work closely with finance and business teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and support the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file monthly GST returns (GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B) and perform GSTR‑2B matching.
• File annual GST returns and reconcile GST‑related GL accounts.
• Handle GST compliance for new subsidiaries and maintain audit documentation.
• Track and manage indirect tax litigations, coordinating with external consultants.
• Lead tax audits, assessments and manage audit processes.
• Oversee legacy tax regimes such as Service Tax, VAT and Customs.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Indian indirect tax laws and GST regulations.
• Ability to work independently with finance and business stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving capabilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Required skills

• Knowledge of indirect tax legislation (GST, Service Tax, VAT, Customs).
• Working knowledge of ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills.
