About the role
The Income Auditor supports the Financial Controller in ensuring that all hotel revenue is complete, accurate, and properly documented. This role acts as a key liaison between finance and operational departments to safeguard the hotel's financial interests.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate with all hotel departments to ensure seamless cooperation and timely resolution of revenue‑related queries.
- Identify cost‑effective resource use and educate staff on optimal financial practices.
- Secure and verify revenue documents such as guest checks, folios, receipts, captain orders, and vouchers.
- Validate rebates, allowances, and adjustments for proper authorization.
- Reconcile guest ledger balances with the general ledger and prepare exception reports.
- Conduct income audits, consolidate reports across operations, and verify soft‑count deposits.
- Prepare ad‑hoc reports, schedules, and analyses as required.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in income auditing or a similar role, preferably within the hospitality sector.
- Strong analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with financial management systems: Sun System, Opera, Micros, Vision.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, auditing procedures, and financial reporting standards.
