Heavy Duty Mechanic – Hydraulic Specialist

About the role

Saipem is looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic specialized in hydraulic systems to support on‑shore equipment maintenance in Angola. You will work on a variety of heavy machinery used for pipeline construction and on‑shore plant operations, ensuring reliability and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Disassemble, reassemble and overhaul heavy equipment such as earth‑moving machines, cranes, pipe layers and welders.
• Inspect equipment visually and with diagnostic tools to determine maintenance needs.
• Interpret technical manuals and drawings (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical) to guide repairs.
• Fabricate replacement parts using workshop tools and equipment.
• Test repaired equipment, diagnose faults and perform corrective actions.
• Prepare material and tool requisition lists.
• Report safety hazards, near‑misses and incidents promptly.
• Maintain a clean, orderly workspace and store tools correctly.
• Participate in daily toolbox talks, Job Safety Analyses and emergency drills.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry performing heavy equipment maintenance.
• No specific diploma required; proven hands‑on expertise is essential.
• Fluent English language skills.
