Financial Controller – Director Level

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller at Director level to lead our end‑to‑end financial control function. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy and robustness of all financial, statutory, regulatory and management reporting while driving modernisation through technology and data‑driven assurance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the accuracy, completeness and integrity of all financial reporting.
• Modernise the Financial Control function using automation, advanced analytics and AI‑driven tools.
• Challenge stakeholders constructively and provide commercially viable solutions.
• Deliver sound analytical reviews, variance and cost analysis to senior management.
• Negotiate day‑to‑day and ad‑hoc reporting deliveries and resolve non‑delivery issues.
• Act as the primary liaison between the business area and offshore finance teams.
• Lead continuous‑improvement projects to streamline and automate control activities.

Required profile

• Extensive post‑qualification finance experience, preferably in financial services.
• Proven senior‑management experience within a global matrix environment.
• Demonstrated ability to provide detailed financial information to senior leadership.
• Track record of transformation, people leadership and fostering a culture of accountability.
• Strong understanding of finance data architecture across legacy and modern platforms.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate issues succinctly.
• Professional qualification preferred (CA, CPA, ACCA, MBA or equivalent).
