Director, Data Scientist

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Director of Data Science to lead its Product Data & Analytics team. The role will shape data‑driven decision‑making across the global organization, supporting product development, portfolio health and revenue optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with global and regional optimisation teams to design and lead cross‑functional analytics initiatives that generate actionable insights.
• Deliver clear data stories and recommendations using Tableau, Power BI, Excel, React‑based dashboards and PowerPoint.
• Translate complex business problems into scalable analytical solutions and ensure timely delivery of data products.
• Define and drive the analytics strategy, applying 80/20 principles to focus on high‑impact opportunities.
• Lead, coach and develop high‑performing analytics teams while building strong stakeholder partnerships.

Required profile

• Proven track record designing, building and scaling AI/ML models with full lifecycle ownership.
• Experience deploying large language models and enterprise AI platforms such as Claude or Copilot in production.
• Strong business mindset to convert data insights into strategic opportunities.
• Leadership experience guiding multidisciplinary teams in a global environment.
