Director-Controller – Oracle Cloud Finance Transformation

About the role

The Director-Controller will lead the migration of American Express’s core financial accounting and close processes from on‑premise Oracle systems to Oracle Cloud ERP. Based in Gurugram, this senior role sits within Global Finance Operations and reports to the finance leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the end‑to‑end transition of Oracle from on‑premise to Cloud Infrastructure in partnership with product owners, technology partners and finance stakeholders.
• Conduct fit‑gap analysis, solution design, data migration, configuration, testing and post‑go‑live support for core finance modules.
• Eliminate legacy customisations, enhance controls and standardise processes using Oracle Cloud ERP capabilities.
• Monitor project milestones, manage risks, create dashboards and report progress to senior leadership.
• Lead organisational change, including communication, training and governance frameworks.
• Mentor and manage a team of 12‑15 managers and analysts to ensure successful deployment.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree (B.Com, B.Tech, MBA or equivalent) with 10‑12 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience leading large technology implementations, preferably Oracle Cloud.
• Strong functional knowledge of finance, financial accounting, close and reporting processes.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership skills managing teams of 10+ members.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and change‑management abilities.
