Commis – Kitchen Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Commis to join the culinary team at The Ritz‑Carlton Pune. In this entry‑level kitchen position you will support chefs by preparing ingredients, cooking and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and portion ingredients, wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, mix and follow recipes to produce hot and cold dishes.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Test and monitor food for proper cooking and presentation.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve portions, and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen environment.
• Check and record appliance and food temperatures, and report any safety or maintenance issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a kitchen or food‑service environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lb and perform repetitive motions.
• Professional appearance, good communication and adherence to company policies.
