Audit Associate

About the role

Charles & Darwish Associates is seeking an Audit Associate to support statutory audit engagements from planning through completion. The role involves reviewing accounting records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements such as IFRS, ISA, and Economic Substance Regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in executing statutory audits in line with International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Review accounting records including sales, purchases, petty cash, receipts, and payments.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) in compliance with IFRS.
• Support month‑end closing, account reconciliations, and ESR filings.
• Assist with AML compliance documentation and audit support.
• Maintain proper audit working papers and documentation.
• Coordinate with seniors and managers to ensure timely completion of audit assignments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 3‑5 years of relevant audit or assurance experience.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA Inter, CMA, CPA or part‑qualified equivalents.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using Tally accounting software.
