Assistant Manager - Risk Containment Unit

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Risk Containment Unit will lead the risk and fraud management function for the Payments business of Bajaj Finance Limited. You will oversee the full lifecycle of risk, from merchant onboarding to transaction monitoring, ensuring robust mitigation strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end risk and fraud management for the Acquiring QR payments portfolio.
• Conduct onboarding checks, transaction monitoring and portfolio reviews to identify risky merchants.
• Review daily risk‑triggered cases, verify business data, and perform merchant calls for early detection.
• Update internal systems with actions taken and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports on risk trends, thresholds and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with business, operations and data teams to refine processes and implement fraud controls.
• Decide on merchant quality, and manage activation or deactivation based on risk assessments.

Required profile

• Graduate or post‑graduate degree.
• Good understanding of the payments business.
• 1–2 years of experience with NBFCs or banks in calling and/or document verification.
• Ability to handle high‑pressure situations with quick, accurate decisions.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Familiarity with Salesforce (SFDC).
